The month of August was a time for focusing on the fruit from the summer ministries. We were just weeks past MZBC Camp and MZBC Vacation Bible School. Pastor Tom Almanza, who oversees the youth department of our church followed up on the decisions made by the young people at Camp this year. VBS provided many additional prospects and visitors to church in the weeks following. It has been exciting to see children and parents in church together.
Red Lion, Pennsylvania hosts the annual Red Lion Street Fair. Mt. Zion provides a booth for Reformer's Unanimous, an addictions ministry, as well as a booth for our church. It is a great way to distribute literature face to face with the people of our community.
Family softball has been an enjoyable event for the families of our church on Friday nights this month. It is a fun activity for the church and provides further opportunity for fellowship.
We had a special baptismal service this month. A father who had been saved after being affiliated with our church for 20 or more years was scheduled to be baptized. The Sunday morning of the baptism his son walked the aisle and received Christ as Savior. He was then baptized with his father.
God is good and willing to prove Himself faithful to His people. It is our desire as a church to emulate Christ in all that we do. We desire to shine as lights in this dark world Sunday to Sunday. We will stand against the apostasy, trends, and compromise that is flooding this country. We unashamedly preach the truth, seeking to please God rather than men. Mt. Zion stands committed to spiritual warfare. We fight for the Bible and our families. We pray for the peace of Israel and for God to turn the hearts of kings.
