The Varig airline has gone "belly up" and that has caused some serious logistical problems for us. But the Lord continues to provide transportation exactly when we need it. Often not a moment before we need it, but never "too late." We continue to praise him for his goodness and lovingkindness that we have so far NOT been stranded in any airports in Brazil. Actually, Dr. Robertson was stranded overnight a week ago, but he had a place to stay in São Paulo and was able to get to Recife the next morning.
Last Monday we spoke to a group of local Recife pastors that had been assembled by a "friendly" bookstore, the Luz e Vida bookstores. That got kind of tricky because there was a wide divergence of opinion among some of the participants in the audience and things nearly got out of hand as they wanted to argue with one another rather than interact with what we were saying.
On Tuesday we spoke before the supporters of the Puritan Project (Projet os Puritanos). Dr. Robertson spoke on the need for Portuguese speaking missionaries in parts of Africa and I spoke on the importance of ruling elders in the local congregations of the churches. We were both very well received.
