Last week we woke up to a white blanket of fresh snow on the ground. It was the first time since last year that many of us have experienced that. To be real honest, I'm not a big fan of winter. I have to say that I was less than excited to see it. Certainly, for most of us snow brings up negative thoughts and feelings of the cold and grayness of winter. It may be exciting at first but by the time February rolls around, we are tired of it. after the shock wore off and I was getting used to the idea of snow for the next 5 months, a thought struck me. How does God view snow? Interestingly enough, every reference in the Bible I found about snow, God mentions it in a positive context (Is. 1:18, 55:10, Jer. 18:14, Matt. 28:3, Rev. 1:14). So, I guess what I've learned is instead of murmering and complaining about the snow. I really should be looking at snow the way God does, as a good thing. At the very least it should be a daily reminder of how our sins were washed away and Christ made us whiter than snow. Praise the Lord! - Pastor Brad Brandon. |
