June was great this year with the Annual Church picnic in our new pavilion and annual youth Camp (8 churches) with Jerry Ross & Bill Hardecker speaking. Many decisions for Christ were made. Teens and Juniors came back charged up for Christ.
July was VBS with 19 coming to Christ that week and a penny offering of $1800 for the Whitecars in Belize. Another huge victory was the Chanceford zoning committee voting unanimously NO to the Nude Dancing/BYOB Adult Entertainment Center in Brogue/Airville. This was after 14 hours of community meetings of 200-400 residents on 4 nights.
The transition continues at Mt. Zion. Pastor Randy Starr will be leaving Sept. 16. Pastor Chris Starr will become the next pastor. New pastoral staff members include Michael Hunt who moved here in March and Tom Almanza who will arrive Oct. 1.
August is a “slow down & catch your breath” month with only one special activity—Red Lion Street Fair on Sat., Aug 10. Come out and see us at the Mt. Zion booth and the Reformers Unanimous booth.
Remember the Reformers’ Unanimous (RU) that meets every Friday night from 7 to 9 in our Gym for the purpose of helping anyone who is addicted to anything.
Mt. Zion is a best described as a place of vision and fresh starts where YOU can jumpstart your relationship with the Lord, grow in your knowledge of the Bible, find a place to serve, and meet many new friends. Your whole family will find a variety of opportunities and ministries.
We make no apologies for being known as an evangelistic, discipling, loving Bible preaching church that believes in taking a stand. Isn’t it time for you to return to … “Church the way it used to be”?
