Leviathan’s Dream I dreamed a dream how great the scene,
Of a great fish called Leviathan,
He played within the ocean deep,
And caused great ships to be afraid of him.
“Can you draw out Leviathan with an hook?”
Our LORD did question Job.
“Can you put a hook into his nose,
Or bore his jaw through with a thorn?”
For old Leviathan plays his game,
And many who’ve tried are gone.
He plays and frolics in the deep,
And when he rests he does not sleep.
“Will he make a covenant with thee?”
Not so for he shall flee.
“Wilt thou play with him as with a bird...",
Out in the open sea?”
“Wilt thou take him for a servant…"
Or his master be?
Only God can tame the Leviathan in me.
