The Bible clearly teaches that man was created by the eternal God, endowed with a sinless nature and placed in a perfect environment. In spite of being granted every ability and opportunity to live a whole and fulfilled life man chose to sin against God. As a result, he suffered the consequences.
These consequences may be summarized as sin and death. So, man now lives in the state of sin and death. This brings upon man a lifetime of misery and judgments. Among the specifics of this state the Bible lists the pain in childbearing and child rearing, the ever-present rebellion and contention within the family, the difficulties faced in seeking to make a living, and ultimately, death. All of this is designed to teach man that he must return to His God, the Creator. Only through Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah is there reconstruction of the demolished edifice of human fulfillment and achievement. Little sparks of hope may flash in a person’s life or in society as a whole, but full reconstruction comes only as one embraces the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the Church’s goal to help people to embrace Jesus as Lord and Savior, to help them discover and apply those law structures which will serve as the foundation planks, floors, wall, ceiling, and roof of their lives. In short, it is our goal to help them reconstruct their lives and regain that blessedness for which their hearts and natures cry out.
