1. The NECESSITY of the Anchor We need an anchor because of the storms of life. This world is like a sea; the Church is in it; & each Christian is travelling in a ship through the waters of life; the port to which we are bound is Heaven. Sometimes it’s plain sailing. At other times, a storm.
2. The SECURITY of the Anchor - ‘sure & stedfast’ The hope that we have in Christ accomplishes for the soul the same thing which an anchor does for the ship. We cast ourselves wholly on the Lord!
3. The GLORY of the Anchor ‘which entereth into that within the veil’ The hope of the Christian enters into Heaven itself; it takes hold on the Throne; on Christ Himself; on the promises & power of God.
