"I am sought of them that asked not for Me;
I am found of them that sought Me not:
I said, Behold Me, behold Me,
unto a nation that was not called by My name."
(Isaiah 65:1)

SING PRAISES TO THE LAMB
TUNE THERE IS A FOUNTAIN
CM/DOUBLE
WORDS BY JIM BYRD

1. The Lord of glory, God the Son,
Whom cherubim obey;
The bosom of the Father left,
To dwell in human clay.
Yes Jesus came into the world,
The Messenger of grace;
The Lamb was slain upon the cross,
To save His chosen race.

2. Christ Jesus died for helpless men,
Who can such grace explore?
O let us trust upon the Lord,
And on Him praises pour!
Christ Jesus was our Substitute,
His people are secure;
And through His sin-atoning blood,
We ever shall endure.

3. We trust no other but the Lamb,
Who was for sinners slain;
His blood has washed us from our sin,
And cleansed us from all stain.
Sing praises to the Lamb of God,
Who came to save the lost,
O magnify His precious Name,
He paid our ransom cost.

"DO I PREACH THE GOSPEL?"
This is a question that every preacher must ask himself, "Do I preach the gospel?" I ask it of myself often and pray that God would give me grace to answer it honestly. You see, it doesn’t matter how many I preach to, how many places I preach, how long I preach, how great a preacher men might think me to be, IF I DON’T PREACH THE GOSPEL. As the apostle Paul said, "Woe is unto me if I preach not THE gospel." There is only one gospel which is described as the gospel of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the gospel of grace. Every other so-called gospel is really, as he says, "another gospel." To answer this question I go back to Paul’s statement in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 where he says, "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand." Then he continues, "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." The "Scriptures" he makes reference to had to have been the Old Testament Scriptures! Furthermore, the gospel he preached had to do with "HOW that Christ died" and rose again as taught in those Scriptures. Thus we know that the Old Testament Scriptures were about Christ and what He would accomplish in His coming, death, and resurrection. The Scriptures from Genesis to Malachi show by picture, type, and plain statements that Christ died for a particular people, chosen and beloved of God. They show that the sacrifices, priests, and offerings of that Old Testament economy showed in a figure the substitutionary death, effectual priesthood, and victorious work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The most obvious thing they show concerning Messiah is that He would not fail in this work of redeeming His people but would be triumphant in every point and be totally successful! "He shall not fail" the prophet cried! As I said, central to their theme and central to Paul’s gospel was "HOW that Christ died." It is not just "Christ crucified" like a repeated mantra but who is this Person that died, who did He die for, what did He accomplish for them in His death, where is He now, and what is He doing! God’s elect will all be brought to confess with joy, "He was delivered for our offenses and raised again because of our justification." They will hear someone preach this gospel of good news! –Pastor Gary Shepard

In election the Lord set us apart to be His children.

In adoption He gave us the relationship of His children.

In regeneration He gave us the life of His children.

In justification He gave us the perfect righteousness of His children.

In glorification He gives us the inheritance of His children.

A SPIDER
A spider lowered itself from the ceiling and caught my attention while I was preaching a couple of weeks ago. It actually came between me and the video camera. The spider hung by a thread it had produced and then pulled itself back up to the ceiling. The natural man foolishly imagines that he can climb to heaven on a thread which he has spun by his deeds, but he has no realization that his righteousness is as filthy rags and cannot support him. He cannot ascend into the presence of a holy God by such a flimsy means. Christ alone must carry a sinner safely into everlasting glory. –Pastor Jim Byrd
