In my sermon this past Sunday I used the chorus from the song "Be Ye Glad" and I came across this story. It was too long to utilize in the sermon but too helpful not to share with you - especially you who are living through difficult days and painful times in your life. These days come to all who know and love Jesus not as a curse but as a blessing not the least of which is an experiential underscoring of how much the Lord loves you as He walks with you through your own "valley of the shadow of death." It may be the death of a dream, a relationship, the physical body itself or whatever God, in His kind providence, has brought into your life that you might grow more deeply in your understanding of your beloved Savior and His inscrutable ways as He sculpts you more and more into His own image. These are not easy times for you but life is not easy is it? I think it is especially during the days that are like driving through a thick fog and we don't understand but walk by faith nevertheless that we most glorify God Who is unseen but oh so present. So Christian, Be Ye Glad for all the reasons that will unfold for you in this true account. God bless you and encourage you today.
