I am forwarding this letter verbatim (except where I've inserted a couple of comments in brackets). Though Dawnga says it is Dr. Bacon's work, the Lord knows it is because of the generous help of our Presbyterian and Reformed brothers and sisters throughout America and other parts of the world that we have been enabled by the grace of God to be of some deaconal relief to these children who would otherwise be abandoned or orphaned.
Dear Dr. Bacon,
Greetings in the name of our lord. Jesus Christ. I know you have a Christ like mind and I thank you and praise and esteem you profusely. You have led many of us to Christ, and you are the main reason why God has bestowed so many blessing upon us.
You have told me many times how much you love me, and your love for me is a true love that comes from God and has been shed in your heart. Your love for me is not because I am good nor is it because I deserve it. It is like the love of Christ when with arms wide open He was nailed to the Cross!
It is a glorious fact that instead of choosing someone who is righteous and well educated, you chose me, though I am unworthy, to be the father of the NLO children! You have served and you are still serving the lord with all your strength; with your entire mind; and with all your soul. Consequently, Satan is jealous as he was jealous of Job. You have been appointed and destined by the lord to strengthen us and be everything for us, due to our Lord and Savoiur Jesus Christ. You travel far across the ocean and suffer all kinds of inconvenience and go out of your way to visit us. We cannot help praising God for this. Your deserve a crown of Glory in Heaven for gleaning and saving the ears of corn that dropped by the workers on the fields owned by Boaz. These waifs and orphans are now known as NLO children and you have put them in God's barn. May the lord give you prosperity, wealth, health and longevity; and may all that is good be yours for ever and ever. Amen
All the things you taught us about the word of God go before us and lead us in our daily life, refreshing us as we go along. Up to the present day we are experiencing what you told us about those who have been ordained and chosen by God to obtain and receive His goodness and grace, and that not even one hair from our head will fall to ground without God's will or without God knowing it.
We trust in God for whatever He plans for us. Regarding the usual NLO funds and the where withal to build the Hostel for the girls, we are praying to God about it; and whatever you do or whatever you discuss and decide to do about it we will satisfied, contented, happy and glad.
We have ordered for tricks and they will be delivered during this week. [[I don't know what he is referring to as "tricks" in this sentence -- RB]]
The NLO boys hostel looks cool, stunning, super and pleasant. Though it has no walls, the boys are eager to occupy it and use it as a dormitory, a chapel and classrooms, however only after our patriachal father has prayed and dedicated it to God and after it has been blest, we will occupy it happily to the glory of God.
We wait in great anticipation for your arrival. Every day by day, we spend more and more time mentioning your name in our prayers; and some of us are setting a side special times to pray.
Our Secretary Lal Rem Ruat will meet you in Yangon. He will be at your beck and call and will do all that is necessary and all that you want him to do for you.
We would like to construct the Girl's Hostel before the rainy season; so, trusting in God we have placed and order for timelier [??timber?? -- RB] because the prices of building materials keep rising day by day.
