Wow, I'm still just overwhelmed at what God did today!
Paddy Cook, Michael McAnly, Scott Smith, Sal Mattson, Tim Haas, and I set out this morning to go to ETSU, for opening day.
We had a permit in hand and the support of the Law Enforcement community, as well as the college faculty.
We spent about 20 minutes in prayer and asked God to bring those He wanted to hear the preaching, and wow He answered!
Scott Smith began preaching in front of the library, for about 45 minutes and he drew a crowd. They listened intently and were very respectful. As the rest of us engaged in one to one witnessing, and handing out gospel tracts.
Scott then let me know that it was my turn to get up and preach, so I prayed and began. The students were receptive and open, but most walked by, until one young lady walked by and screamed that she hated "your *~€£{^ng G-d," and "there is no sin, you bigoted, mo&:&-@:);!"
She screamed out so much hate, that for a moment, I was shocked. I prayed quickly that God would give me the words, and He did.
She said she hated God and "your blanking Religion." then she screamed that there was no God or sin.
Now you might think that things were going bad, but in Gods providence, they went according to His will and our prayers!
That hate filled young lady drew a crowd of hundreds of students, faculty, and even the police. They began to videotape The entire event, and even though she screamed to the top of her lungs. I was given the grace to clearly, and logically refute her claims. The crowd cheered and agreed that she was being hateful, and they all agreed that they were sinners in the hands of an angry God, and that they deserved the wrath of a Good God!
This went on for about 45 minutes to an hour, and I began to lose my voice. I asked God to help her, as it began to seriously break my heart, that this poor lady would have gladly attacked God, if she had the power. Her poor lost state just broke me!
Just then, A lady walked up to her and began to talk to her, and they both disappeared into the crowd, so I was able to address the entire group of 2 or 3 hundred students. I was able to share the gospel with the whole group, and they began to clap and cheer. They came to us and thanked us, some were actually crying, I know I was.
Then I announced to the group that we were desiring to sign up all who wanted to come for a weekly Bible study. We ended up with 25 who want to meet and study Gods word.
Then I had a young lady come to me and tell me that they had been praying for 2 years for someone to come in and train their group in the Way Of the Master training. They have 250 young people who want to take the course, so I told them that we would be happy to train them, and they are going to get the word out to the entire school.
We had several others stand up and proclaim the gospel, including Michael, who came out and heard us the last time we were at ETSU. I have been discipling him and he did a great job, preaching the gospel.
I just want to thank God for faithful brothers like Scott, Sal, Paddy, Tim and Michael.
Praise God for His grace and mercy.
P.S. The lady who talked to the hate filled girl came back and is joining our team!!!!!!
