Imagine that your parents provided with you with the most privileged education from your youth all the way up to higher studies at an Ivy League institution. You were sent to foreign countries to learn other languages. You had exposure to business, the arts, and everything in between. If this were the case, you better believe your parents would expect something of you!

If, after all that, they found you working occasionally at a bowling alley and spending the rest of your time playing video games they wouldn’t be pleased. Paul spent the first three chapters of Ephesians telling believers how privileged they are in Christ—chosen, redeemed, adopted, heirs, citizens in God’s family and more. Now, he says, live in a way that becomes this high standing of grace. We’ve often heard the statement, “With privilege comes responsibility.” This is especially true in God’s realm.
