Revelation is Understandable
God intended the Bible to be understandable. That principle holds true even for Revelation. The Holy Spirit did not inspire a hidden code, he intended it to be understandable and practical. Unfortunately, many Christians have come to Revelation the way a scientist comes to a frog. They have tried to understand it by disecting it. When you disect a frog you may learn much about its parts. But you kill the frog. By disecting Revelation we have found an infinite number of things to argue about, but we have lost the message.
I preached through Revelation because I believe it is an important, practical and understandable book. But it can only be understood by standing back from it. The book of Revelation contains a series of visions, as we look at those visions we get different perspectives on Christ, the Church, world History, Satan, God, and Heaven.
In these few blog posts, I intend to summarize this series. Each post will contain an overview of the pictures Revelation gives us on each of its primary topics. I hope this overview inspires you to read Revelation, and to draw from it the comfort and blessings promised to everyone who reads this book.
