For Whom Christ Died

Who are they for whom Christ died? Who are those for whom He stood as a substitute? They are known by this distinguishing mark, THEY BELIEVE IN HIM. He said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." Christ was lifted up "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." By His death our Lord has made a full atonement for the sins of all who believe in Him, and they are therefore justified in the sight of God. The Gospel teaches that we are saved by faith in Christ alone. It is "Casting all my care upon him." The Lord Jesus Christ came into this world sent by God to save.

(1 John 4:14) "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world."

(1 Timothy 1:15) "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief."

The work, which He came to do, He has finished. He came to put away sin, and He has put it away. If you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ you can know that He took all the load of all your sin upon Himself, past, present, and future, and "As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us." Have you trusted Him? "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." This is the Gospel. This is the Good News. -- Milton Howard
