"One Way: Exclusive Claims of Christianity"
Featuring: Alistair Begg, D.A. Carson, Ligon Duncan, Peter Jones, Richard Phillips, and Philip Ryken. Music by the Westminster Brass.
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6
Our Lord Jesus spoke those words for the comfort and instruction of his disciples on the night of his arrest. But in our relativistic, post-modern world, they strike with explosive impact. Here is the great challenge and offense of the Christian faith before the idols of our world: the exclusive claim that our God is the God, that Jesus is not merely a Savior but the only Savior, and that the truth revealed in the Bible is divine truth that binds the conscience of men and women. To stand before the idols of our age, our faith must grasp these and other exclusive Christian claims. And to witness faithfully and powerfully we must be able to articulate these claims with clarity, conviction, and love.
Our plenary addresses will present the essential claims that Christianity makes to our pluralistic and relativistic world: One God, One Savior, One Truth, and One People. Our opening address, "One Among the Many," will set the table by biblically considering the Christian's stance before the world. The conference concludes with our Sunday morning message, which applies the exclusive claims of Christianity to the believer’s personal walk with God. On each of these topics the Bible speaks with bold authority, and set within the context of Reformed theology each shines forth with depth and clarity.
For our pre-conference seminar, we are privileged to feature Dr. Peter Jones, who is president of Christian Witness to a Pagan Planet, as well as Adjunct Professor of Practical Theology at Westminster Seminary in California. His addresses outlining the challenge of paganism today are a must for every pastor, church leader, and layperson who wishes to become astute about the changes taking place in our world and the most poignant challenge to the Christian faith in our times.
Once again, we are honored to enjoy the contributions of some of the most able and significant Christian leaders of our time: Alistair Begg, D.A. Carson, Peter Jones, and David Wells. To this we add regular participants and friends J. Ligon Duncan III and Philip Ryken. As we sharpen our minds and our witness through this conference, may we remember that the one way of Christianity finds its destination in the one great purpose to which the PCRT is always dedicated: soli deo gloria, to God alone be glory, forever and ever.
Note: This conference will not be webcast, which the exception of the normal Sunday Service. |
