Coming to Grips with Genesis, which was written in honor of Dr. John Whitcomb and contains his biography, has now been translated into Russian. Dr. Sergei Golovin, a Ukrainian creationist who is the founder of the Christian Center for Science and Apologetics (an apologetics ministry for the Russian-speaking world), has overseen this project.
The first print run was finished in late April of 2011, in time to be presented at a May 2011 creation science conference in Kiev, according to Golovin.
Golovin is praying for funds to be given to help with the cost of publication. Any financial gifts will help get this volume into the hands of Russian-speaking Christian teachers and leaders.
The estimated cost of translation is about $6,000 and the estimated printing cost is about $6,000 for 1,000 copies.
To donate to this project, write a check to Teaching Ministries International (P.O. Box 1483, Snellville, GA 30078). Please include a note saying that your gift is for Golovin’s ministry and memo the check to “Sergei Golovin Ministries.”
The funds will be deposited into TMI's checking account but credited to Golovin's account in their records.
CTGWG is very much needed in the Russian-speaking world, according to the book’s co-editor, Dr. Terry Mortenson, who is a speaker, writer and researcher for Answers in Genesis.
"Please lift up a prayer that this book will have a significant impact on the church in the former Soviet Union," Mortenson stated. "May God be praised and His church strengthened."
The Arabic translation of GTGWG is also nearing completion. Prayer for both translation projects is appreciated.
