In John 19:18, we are told that our Lord was crucified with two other men---“on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.” In those three men are represented all men as they are described in the word of God. On the left hand is represented all the natural sons of Adam who are condemned of God suffering that condemnation presently and soon to die not only a physical death but a second and eternal death. An eternal death where the worm dieth not and there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth: A place called outer darkness and everlasting torment. These are they who shall be judged out of the books of God according to their works. They will be judged by that holy standard established by the obedience and death of Christ. (Acts 17: 31, Revelation 20: 11-15) This is the fate and sure end of every natural son of Adam who do not believe on and rest in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Mark 16: 16, John 3: 36)
