This blog features some of the tremendous, Christ-centred comments made by Dr Robert Hawker on the Five Books of Moses.
Hawker preached in Plymouth during the C18th and is author of ‘The Poor Man's Commentary’ – a work that received its unique name because it was originally published in small 'penny' portions so as to be affordable to the poor. Each post in this blog is an excerpt from this Commentary.
The outstanding feature of Hawker's pulpit and written ministry is that he always speaks so highly and richly of Christ.
Charles H. Spurgeon said of him: "... he sees Jesus, and that is a sacred gift which is most precious ... . There is always such a savour of the Lord Jesus Christ in Dr Hawker that you cannot read him without profit."
It is my prayer that this blog will come with profit to your heart.
