Tom Brady had achieved his dreams. He had three Superbowl championships, two Superbowl MVP awards, the AP Male Athlete of the year award and had been named the world's most eligible bachelor. Still he felt unfulfilled. He spoke these words on 60 minutes:

"Maybe most people would say, this is what it is. You have achieved everything life has to offer. But me I think, there has got to be more than this..."

Most of us are saved from the kind of melancholy he expresses. Most of us go through life having never achieved our highest aspirations, so we assume this feeling of emptiness is due to our failures. But what happens when those who have succeeded call back from the top of the mountain and say – “It’s not as good as I expected. I’m still empty.”?

"Most people, if they have really learned to look into their own hearts, would know that they do want, and want acutely, something that cannot be had in this world. . . If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world (something supernatural and eternal)." ~ C. S. Lewis

When everything in life disappoints you, that disappointment is God’s gracious call to look beyond this life and look to him to fulfill you.
