It's really called "single-payer health care." It's when universal health care, the somewhat socialistic method of providing health benefits to an entire population, is financed through a "single" insurance pool from which all the costs are met. At least, that's what I'm told. I had no clue what it was on the first day I saw it in a newspaper article a few weeks back. Especially because I mis-read one of the words. I thought at first I was seeing an article about single - prayer health care.
Now that rang a responsive chord somewhere inside. Think of it. A physical need arises. A single prayer is offered. Health is on the way.
Ah, but that's too good to be true. You think so? What do you think James meant when he said that sick people should call for the elders of the church to pray over them, and that prayers given in faith will "save the sick" ?
Why did Jesus tell his disciples to "Heal the sick," and that they would be doing greater miracles than He ever did? That whatever they would ask in His Name, He would do it?
Why did John say he wished above all things that his people be in health?
Maybe "universal health care" has been on God's heart all along for His people? As the world seems to be heading toward a master government that will provide for its citizens from "birth to earth and womb to tomb," why can't we believers buy into the free gifts of God available for the asking?
