The people of God are to be separated to Him. They are devoted to Him knowing that they have come from Him and that He is providing for them. But it often happens that as sinners, God’s people forget who He is and what He has done for them. The result is that they go their own way rather than The following the Lord. God gave His law to His people so that they would know how to live in such a way as to please Him. Some consider that law to be too restrictive so they loosen it to suit themselves. Others consider that law to be a guideline rather than a standard so they pick and choose what they want and forget the rest of it. This happens in the church as well as among those who have no regard for God. But God called us to be a holy people. We are to be devoted to Him. We owe Him that because He made us and He continues to provide for us with great kindness and love. Have you come to see your need to be wholly devoted to the Lord your Maker? Do you find delight in His law so that you may honor Him? It is in obedience to the Lord that we find joy in life and we can only be obedient to Him by trusting in His Son, Jesus Christ.
