"Knowing The Truth" with Pastor Kevin Boling is a live, call-in radio program providing Doctrinal Dialog, Cultural Commentary and Insightful Interviews with some of today's foremost Christian authors and leaders.
During the first half of the program today, I will speak with Jeremy Lelek, President of the Association of Biblical Counselors about their upcoming annual conference to be held on May 20-22, 2010 at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX. The keynote speaker will be Tullian Tchividjian, addressing this year's theme of "The Gospel Revolution - Rediscovering the Power of the Cross."
The conference is designed to teach a new generation of Christians how to effectively apply the Gospel of the Cross to the real issues of everyday life. Tchividjian explains, "I am absolutely convinced that most Christians believe that the gospel ignites the Christian in life, but they fail to believe the gospel is the fuel that keeps Christians going and growing every day."
The Gospel Revolution conference will feature several authors and international speakers, including Dr. Paul David Tripp, Elyse Fitzpatrick, and Dr. Mike Emlet and Jeremy Lelek.
Speaking of "a new generation of Christians" rightly applying the Gospel, on the second half of the program I will speak with Joe Dallas - Program Director of Genesis Counseling in Tustin, California, a counseling ministry dealing with sexual addiction, homosexuality and other sexual/relational problems.
Earlier today, Brian Thornton from Voice of the Sheep, posted an article entitled, "The Gay Christian: Coming to a Church Near You". In that article, Brian detailed some recent Christian news items and outlined a disturbing trend among some well-known professing Christians, Thornton writes... "No. I'm not talking about people professing Christ who were once living the homosexual lifestyle and are now struggling with their sexuality. I'm talking about people who profess Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and who are also consciously and unapologetically living a homosexual lifestyle. Think I'm way off base? Have you ever heard of the Gay Christian Network? It is self-described as, "a nonprofit ministry serving Christians who happen to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender", and it has the support of some well-known Christian leaders and music artists."
During this portion of the program, I will ask Joe to explain this disturbing trend among parts of the professing Christian community (Joe wrote extensively on this subject in his book entitled, "The Gay Gospel? How Pro-Gay Advocates Misread the Bible")
