Here are two hot topics that many preachers won't touch. The first is sins committed on Sunday mornings -- by preachers in their pulpits! Surely a preacher never sins on Sunday morning, does he? The second hot topic is the lost discipline of "elenctics." Elenctics relates to the exposing of sin as sin, together with a call to repentance. Afraid to step on toes? Don't want to drive away visitors? Fearful that giving will plummet if parishoners are confronted with the ugliness of their sin? There are countless reasons why the modern church won't talk openly about sin, and won't confront it as an offense against a holy God. Yet if we are to enjoy the Holy Spirit's powerful blessing, we must expose evil for what it is, and force people to face themselves. If you've been following this blog, you've probably guessed already that I've uploaded two new articles. One is entitled Elenctic Preaching and the other is "Sunday Morning Sins."
