YOU SHALL NOT STEALWe come to you and repent Father of the greed in our hearts, that fester to the point of taking from others, that which does not belong to us. We break into houses, cars, lockers, handbags and take possessions that do not belong to us. We lie to ourselves and say that we deserve these things and that we are taking back that which should have been ours in the first place. We defraud people and companies. We think that because we haven't broken into a house or car, we are not guilty, but we ignore copyright and steal from artist. We take home sugar, milk, and stationary from our offices. We abuse the internet and phones at work. We do not pay our debt. We even steal from our families by spending time that belongs to them at work, (Ephesians 4:28).
Father, teach our hands, not take that which do not belong to us. Teach our hearts to be content and thankful for that which we do have.
YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS
We are a country filled with liars. We are all liars. We lie to our parents, spouses, bosses, friends, family and people we don't even know. We tell white lies, we lie to the authorities and bear false witness in court. We feign illness and we even lie to ourselves and we try to lie to You, (Act 5:4).
Father, You are not a liar, but You HATE lies. Forgive us and show us how easily we tell a lie. Heal our minds and hearts and help us to see the lies that we are telling ourselves and others... Help us to be courageous, to not tell lies because we are fearful, but to fear You more than man.
Above all help us to identify the lies of the enemy for you remind us that the devil is the father of all lies (John 8:44).
YOU SHALL NOT COVET
Father, You tell us not to covet because in it lies the root of a myriad of sins. To covet is to be filled with greed and envy. We come and admit that our hearts have been filled with greed for that which belongs to others. We look and our hearts turn cold and angry because others have and we don't. We have therefore done all manners of evil things to be able to have what others have.
We repent of the fact that envy has lead to us become full of pride, even spiritual pride and looking to see how we can place ourselves above others and on what they have (Isaiah 2:11, Isaiah 2:17). We have turned greedy for knowledge and power and even in the church we have become people filled with our own worship and acting to be seen by man, rather than by You, (Ephesians 5:5).
We have become greedy for comfort and we have become complacent. We do not take Your word out to the lost, we look away from others in need and we use our money on buildings and human traditions instead of reaching the hungry and the lost.
We have become so greedy that we have forgotten to place our trust in You. We place our trust in people and things - and in doing so we become even greedier.
Thank You for Your provision. Thank You that You want to restore thankfulness and humility in our hearts.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS AND YOUR GRACE. THANK YOU THAT YOUR GRACE IS SUFFICIENT AND WE ASK THAT GRACE AND PEACE BE MULTIPLIED. (2 Corintians12:9, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Peter 1:2)
THANK YOU THAT YOU WILL BUILD YOUR KINGDOM HERE IN SOUTH AFRICA, IN AFRICA AND ALL OTHER COUNTRIES.
THANK YOU THAT YOUR WILL WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
The Bible ‘is God-breathed and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin for correction of error and discipline in obedience and training in righteousness, in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose and action' (2 Timothy 3:16 Amp).
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on the Pioneer and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV)
