1) Show yourselves to be an example to other believers. (previous blog) 2) Compare your relationship to only one other. (previous blog) 3) Avoid fleshly temptations like you would avoid a bomb.
Never make room for the flesh. Passion can be more explosive than gunpowder next to an open flame--especially in your youth. Don't be deceived into thinking you are strong because you will then be tempted to lower the fences that protect you. Consider yourselves to be very vulnerable, because you are. I trust all of you, but I don't trust the flesh within any of you. Guard your heart (thoughts, emotions, choices), for it will determine your life (Proverbs 4:23). But guard your body as well. Don't flirt with a roadside bomb. Beware of too much time spent alone, or time spent alone without the accountability of others.
Now flee from youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).
But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh in regard to its lusts (Romans 13:14).
Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).
