Why is it I constantly find myself enraged at Christian teachers? It is because what they are teaching is anything but true Christianity. I recall being in a bookstore when a young woman came browsing by the section I was in and hurriedly searched out a Joel Osteen book, picked it off the shelf, and actually hugged it close to her as if she were being reunited with a long-lost child. Being a total stranger, and a man, I considered it inappropriate to address her personally as I might be perceived to be “chatting up” this pretty young lady, as we used to say in England. So despite the emerging rage that was quickly growing in my inner man, I let her go. God forgive me, I should have spoken up even at the risk of being considered a pervert/stalker/would-be rapist. She is one that got away. May God give me courage not to make the same mistake again.
The danger to her soul is graver than any physical harm that potentially could strike any one of us at any moment. It would be bad enough dying and having your potential stripped by the actuality of a sudden totally unexpected death, but worse still would be to be cut down in your prime while you were clutching the false promises of “Your Best Life Now” without the slightest provision for the eternal hereafter.
“Not all that Glitters is Gold.” Not all Christian teachers are created equal. In fact, not all Christian teachers are Christian!!!
