Mark the first two words, "By him!" The Holy Spirit declares to us that if we want to come to God the Father to thank him for the riches of his grace, worked out and freely ours in the person of Christ Jesus his Son then we we can only come to thank God FOR HIS SON, BY HIS SON. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Do you desire to thank God for Christ our Mediator? Then you come in the Mediator. Do you desire to thank God for Christ bearing your sin away? Then you come by the blood of Jesus. Do you desire to thank God for Christ Interceding on your behalf? Then you come in Christ your Intecessor. Colossians 3:17: And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
