When scripture speaks of the heart of a believer it does not refer to the organ in our chest or any part of us created in our natural birth. The heart of a believer is the new spirit created in a sinner by God the Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 11: 19; 36:26.)Other words for it are: a new creature (2 Cor 5: 17; Gal 6: 15); the new man (Eph 4: 24; Col 3: 10); the inner man (Eph 3: 16).It is in the heart that has been made by God that believer's worship Christ in spirit and in truth. In the heart which God the Holy Spirit makes we have "the mind of Christ" or as the Lord says, "my spirit within you" (Eze 36: 27; I Cor 2: 16.)
