All of the Christmas events at the church were stimulating and well attended. Some found Christ as Savior after the cantata. Gene Engles gave a video report of his June trip with Johnny Rehmeyer to Hungary. Missionary Clint Robinson, to German-speaking people had to return to the states for a couple of months to secure paperwork to get into Austria. He is available for meetings within a 5-hr. radius through the forepart of April. In January, we’ve had some great services with many at the altar. Sunday, Jan. 25, Pastor Starr preached on Refinement and Reinforcements and laid out the vision of what we hope to accomplish as a church in 2009. On Sunday mornings, he’s been preaching on the miracles of Christ. In Sunday School, we’re finishing a series on the End Time Events. Wed. nights, he’s challenging us from Psa. 31-40. January is also the month for our annual Family skating activity. Boys B-ball for all ages began Mon., Jan. 26. Dr. Mark Montgomery preached for us on Wed., Jan. 21. February will feature a new Young Couples SS class beginning Sun., Feb. 8th in the Annex and a new Discipleship Class for folks wanting to learn the rudiments of the Christian faith. Then, the Sweetheart BQ on Sat., Feb. 14th, a teen Volleyball tournament on Sat., Feb. 21st with youth from several other churches joining us. Sat., and on March 7th will be our Master’s Club’s annual Pinecar Derby from 1-3. These activities are wrapped around a schedule of spiritual emphasis of teaching, preaching and outreach. Remember that the CIA Club (High School Bible Study) in Red Lion High School meets every other Tuesday at 11:45-12:25 in Rm C101.
