Doctrine is teaching. All teaching is taught by the Lord in the heart he has created. This man was astonished, not merely at a system of theology, but at the teaching which the Lord taught him in the heart. He beheld the distinguishing grace God showed to him when he saw that God revealed Christ in him and passed by Elymas. God which speaks light into the heart revealed in him the glory of God in the face of Christ Jesus. His search for knowledge was over when God made Christ Wisdom unto him in the heart. His struggles for acceptance with God were over when the Holy Spirit revealed Christ in whom his people are Complete. No man is saved unless God teaches us this in the heart. The Lord Jesus Christ said, John 6: 44: No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. 45: It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. And they come just as this man did, believing, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
