How righteous are those sinners for whom Christ died and to whom God the Spirit has given spiritual life to trust the Lord Jesus Christ? We are more righteous than our father Adam when he stood innocent before God in the garden prior to his fall. He had a creature righteousness, but we have the righteousness of the Son of God. Adam’s righteousness was forfeited through willful transgression, but the righteousness we have can never be lost for it is the righteousness of Christ Jesus our Lord Who liveth and abideth forever.
