THEREFORE. Because of two things--because God had worked the power of his grace in the hearts of worms within the church making them obedient to the faith and because God in sovereign power used worms who hated him to scatter his church. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went to those predetermined places preaching the word. Just in case we have to ask what is meant by "preaching the word" the next verse tells us exactly, "Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them" (Acts 8: 5.) If we are truly born again believers, no matter where our God scatters us, we will go every where preaching one message, Christ Jesus the Lord.
