IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?
Hebrews 11:11: Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised. 12: Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
Through faith also Sara herself received strength. It was not Abraham who believed for Sara, but Sara herself. No one else can believe God for you. You must believe God yourself. Through faith Sara received strength. Notice, Sara did not have strength, but through faith she received strength from the Lord.
In fact, in the beginning Sara was full of doubt (Gen 18: 9-15.) Her womb was dead. Yet, though doubt may be mixed with our faith, through the channel of faith, God gives strength in the inner man to believe him even as he gave strength to Sara to conceive a child. The Lord made Sara wait 25 years before he fulfilled his promise to her. In that time the Lord proved to Sara that she indeed had no strength of her own--not only to conceive and have a child--but to walk before the Lord. Yet, the Lord promised and would bring his promise to pass in spite of Sara's doubts or failures or errors. This is how the Lord gives faith, grows faith, and strengthens the believer through faith--by making us willing not to trust ourselves but his strength. Remember, through faith Sara RECEIVED strength. The Lord answered his own question, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
The Psalmist gives us the word of application: I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. 14: Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:13)
