FLOWERS FOR DEAD PROPHETS

The Lord Jesus Christ said, "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers." (Matthew 23: 29-32.)

In that day, if the prophets spoken of in this passage could have come back from the grave do you think they would have committed themselves to those religious leaders who placed flowers on their graves and spoke kind words about them or would they have committed themselves to those who ceased not to teach and to preach the Lord Jesus Christ?

In our day, if John Calvin, John Gill or John Bunyan came back from the grave do you think they would commit themselves to a church where the pastor preaches historical messages about them or to a church where the pastor sets forth the all-sufficient, all-victorious Lord and Christ to whom they devoted their lives and their ministries?
