It is both disappointing and disgusting that many preachers who once claimed to believe that Christ actually accomplished the redemption of God’s elect when he died as their Substitute have chosen to compromise that blessed revelation of the gospel. It is not that they have found new light. Rather, they are guided by the darkness of personal ambition, craving the acceptance and approval of men. I defy anyone to find in the Word of God so much as a single indication that there is any sense in which Christ died for and made atonement for those who ultimately bear the wrath of God in hell. Those who tell us that he did are asserting the blasphemous absurdity that the Son of God died in vain for the damned. A greater blasphemy cannot be uttered!
