One Place of Mercy

“…according to the ordinance of the Passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have ONE ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land.”

(Numbers 9:14)

O to see the Mercy Seat, to see the only place of Peace where Christ, by Himself, finished the work of reconciliation for His people. It is that place called “It is Finished” and seen only in the lovely face of Christ the Savior.

When you are confronted with the deeds of men of old, will you look with the view that they are examples where you may find wisdom and encouragement to keep yourself from these deeds with the ‘help’ of God of course? Or do you see the place of Mercy as the ONLY place of Peace? Not comparing your deeds with those of others but hoping rather in Christ ALONE as your Deliverer, with no view to your deeds. When you hear the Scriptures say “Do” will you try harder or will you run to the Mercy Seat?
