Not Earthly Gold, Pearls nor Diamonds

My precious LORD hung on the dreadful cross where He was made a curse for sinful me! Where He had my hell, that I in Him might have eternal Heaven! The precious drops that flowed were the price of my redemption--what a price! Not earthly gold nor pearls nor diamonds but purest, richest blood; the blood of Jehovah's Fellow! Awake, O Sword against my Shepherd and against the Man that is my Fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered and I will turn my hand upon the little ones [Zechariah 13:7].

Here was Heaven's Gold paid to ransom sinful worms! Not for angels were Heaven's Treasure thus poured out but for worms! Oh! Wonder of wonders! My soul marvels at such matchless love and at the effects of it!
