Today we focus on our family and covenant among us even amidst a world that does not understand the marriage vows we made as they even destroy the building blocks and the very things that would be of HEALING to them! And so, they set their minds to "vile" affections. They attack even the components of the things we hold so dear with no appreciation for God and His covenant. You see a world full of Mothers Day cards while the news shows one who glorifies the very aborting of her child!

The subject of our text is a God fearing wife and mother. We have the words of King Lemual (one who we do not know) and the Word of God that pertains to us as a child of God. It is the praise and honor of a God fearing wife and mother. Her children rise up and her husband praises and calls her blest. These words you do NOT find today. A deep praise and appreciation for the office that God has places as mothers. In age and due time they rise up to appreciate God's covenant and office, not being deterred by those youth who do not yet understand or appreciate a Christian upbringing. We look for "things" in our children as we understand it is a matter of God and His covenant! They will come to understand (and possibly even after you and I are in glory) that the Lord establishes a Christian home to His Glory and we put the emphasis on God, His Church, the Christian family, and on God's Glory!

It has to do with the heavenly treasure as they teach our children about the ways of the Lord! It has nothing to do with the writing of a Hallmark card, but for God's kingdom and covenant! For what? This chapter capsulates many virtues (with the whole Hebrew alphabet having a poetic strand here) with the end summarizing these very virtues! We see these virtues of our mothers. Not for what they do for us horizontally, but as they do things for that which is eternal! God fearing mothers make vows unto the Lord. It is how she works and labors unto the Lord and they find all their worth in her love for God as she labors for the love of God and His kingdom! And her husband does not deride his wife, but upholds her in this regard. Young men must note...marry IN THE LORD! A woman who fears the Lord! And she labors industriously for her family as husband and wife put their shoulders together to fulfill their baptism vows and into whatever that takes!

How are our cards different from the world today? We understand the promise made to us and understand full well that these things are all for the Kingdom and will fade. It is not about the vacuum lines in the carpet people of God. But, it IS about the treasure and the teaching about the Word of God that will last into the eternity of Heaven! The Church. The Christian schools. The Christian HOME! The blessings? So far above this world with eternal ramifications as He uses this world as a means and scaffolding to accomplish His means. Remember ETERNAL ramifications! And that is why we take our children aside. Riches....you may or may not receive them.......BUT, a prudent woman and wife is from the Lord and we will this day and forever celebrate the richness of His blessing that we will celebrate even into all of eternity and into glory forevermore!!!
