Verse 13 again reminds us that Noah entered the ark at just the right time. There was no need for him to enter that ark prior to the rains descending upon the earth. There was no danger in that regard until that time. The ark was not designed to isolate Noah from society until God’s judgment fell upon society. God’s salvation is not designed to isolate man from the world. It is to save the soul of man and provide the means of being able to live in a sin-cursed world in a way that is a blessing to God and man. We are in the world, but we are not a part of the world’s system, if we are saved. We live here. We work here. We earn money and we spend money. However, we do not follow the ungodly system of thought and practice. We follow God and seek to help others to know the true God. In verse 14 we are further reminded that the beasts that were chosen by God were also all in the ark. There was no frantic last minute chasing after some stubborn animal that refused to cooperate. All were there. In verse 15 we are again reminded that the animals went in unto Noah into the ark. They all came to him. Everything happened just as God said it would. God is in charge and He makes things happen in His time. Those who were outside and busy in their wickedness must have wondered at what was going on with certain animals walking towards the ark and entering that ark without any coaxing from Noah. They just went into it. Yet, those outside the ark, continued on as if there was no need for concern. They would soon change their minds, but it would be too late. This is the case today. There are many people who are so busy with their own lives. They have no time for God. Many are involved in false religion. They gather to pontificate about what they see in our world and how it relates to what they believe from their scriptures. Most of them use perversions. They refuse to allow the truth to penetrate their hardened hearts. They have revised the perversions to suit their particular philosophy and they are somewhat content with that. It is not until they are near death or even at death that all of a sudden they realize they are wrong. For those who die in that state, the shock will be great, beyond description. In a moment of time, they will be in darkness and they will be weeping and gnashing their teeth. There will be no hope. It will be too late. As we will see yet, when Noah and his family and all the animals were in the ark, God shut the door. Noah was not responsible for shutting the door. God did not make him the judge of who could enter and who could not. Noah needed to judge his own life and that of his family and he needed to choose to follow the truth. He spoke to the wicked over the years, but the final sentence was pronounced upon them by God. When God shuts the door, it is too late. No amount of begging and pleading will matter then. Be sure you are in God’s ark today. Be sure you know His forgiveness of sins. Nothing else matters. Your RRSP’s won’t matter. Your nice house won’t matter. That getaway you have planned will not matter. Choose life today. If you have that life, then be sure to walk with God as Noah did. Others need to know the truth. They need to hear a clear message of God’s love and mercy and judgment.
