For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5

Likely, all of us have heard people refer to God as, 'The Man Upstairs.' In most, if not all cases, the one who uses this terminology has no understanding of the glory of the One they speak of. Nor do they understand just how accurate their religious nickname is. While we would not use such terminology because of the connotation it has in our society, we do gladly, and with great awe worship a man, The Man Christ Jesus, who is 'upstairs' in glory seated at the right hand of the Father. Our God is not One “who is untouched by the feelings of our infirmities, but was tempted in every point, just like us.” The reason He could be tempted and tested like us is because He became one of us. As one of us, He assumed all our responsibilities under the law and performed them perfectly. Then He assumed all of the liabilities for our failures under the law, and paid them fully. Only a man could assume such responsibilities, and only God could perform them satisfactorily. Having done so, the Man, Christ Jesus went to heaven and now rules all things as the Sovereign God He always was, and rules all things for the good of His people.
