CALL TO WORSHIP
O, Lamb of God, still keep me near to Thy wounded side
Tis only there in safety and peace I can abide.
What foes and snares surround me, what lusts and fears within.
The grace that sought and found me alone can keep me clean.
Tis only in Thee hiding I know my life secure
Only in Thee abiding I steadfast shall endure.
Thine arm the victory gaineth, O’er every hurtful foe
Thy love my heart sustaineth in all its care and woe.
Soon shall my eyes behold Thee with rapture face to face.
The half hath not been told me of all Thy power and grace.
Thy beauty, Lord, and glory, the wonders of Thy love
Shall be the endless story of all Thy saints above.

THE IMPORTANCE OF LOVE
The scriptures tell us that love is a distinguishing mark of believers. “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35) “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God.” (I John 4:7-8)
Love is so important, that preaching without love is an annoying, unprofitable sound. (I Cor. 1:1) Without love, our giving and acts of faith are nothing. (I Cor 1:2-3)
Love moves the believer to be long suffering, patient, forgiving, and seek the best for others. Love moves the believer to not be judgmental toward others. Love moves the believer to pray for our brethren even when they may have hurt us. Love never makes a person vindictive. Love never makes a person spread lies in an effort to hurt others and promote themselves and their agenda.
But love does not mean that a believer will compromise the truth in order to get along. Love for Christ makes the believer preach the gospel of Christ without compromise no matter the cost. Love for people also makes the believer preach the gospel of Christ without compromise. We will not tell a lie that will damn a person’s soul if we truly love them.

C.H. Spurgeon
THE GOOD NEWS OF REPRESENTATION
Believer, rejoice, just as Eve’s transgression brought about no change in her standing before God because she was in her head, Adam, likewise, the believer’s transgressions bring about no change in our standing before God because we are in Christ our Head. Before the all-knowing eye of God, in Christ our Righteous Head we are righteous; in Christ our righteous Head we have no sin; in Christ our righteous Head we cannot sin (1 John 3: 5, 9). Oh, thank God for the good news of representation!

AN EXPECTED END
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
Jeremiah 29:11
God’s people oftentimes, especially in times of difficulty, allow their fears to dictate their expectations. But the expectations of their faith tell them that whatever God has promised He is able to perform, no matter what their present circumstances may be. God's thoughts and God's deeds are in perfect harmony. And because God changes not, we can be confident that, although it often seems to the contrary, God is working all things together for the everlasting good of His people. A child of God has good reason to expect what God has promised, He will most certainly bring to pass. The glory of God has something to do with the eternal salvation of His people. If salvation is of the Lord, and that salvation is not completed, it would reflect on every attribute of God. God never forgets and has never changed His purpose of grace to His people. With such a God, we can rest assured that He is bringing us to that expected end where we shall be forever with the Lord. This is the rightful expectation of all who put their trust in Jesus Christ. We shall never be put to shame or disappointed in that trust. Christ will never let us down!
Pastor Larry Criss
We can easily manage if we will only take, each day, the burden appointed to it. But the load will be too heavy for us if we carry yesterday's burden over again today, and then add the burden of the morrow before we are required to bear it.
