a people very sinful – a God very merciful
a people very foolish – a Lord all-wise
a people very fickle (changing) - a Lord Who never changes
a people very small – a God very great
a people very poor – a Lord very rich
a people completely helpless – a God with all power
a people very finite – a Lord God eternal
a people very low – a God very high
a people that died in Adam – all made alive in Christ
a people who lost all in Adam – all restored in Christ
a people who break the law – a Lord Who fulfilled it
a people who are all lost – a Lord and Shepherd Who finds them
a people who always fail – a God who cannot fail
a people with sin and trouble over their heads – a Lord Jesus Christ with all under His feet
a people very unstable – a God Who is their Rock
a people who hate God – a God Who Loves them
a people full of enmity – a God Who reconciles them
a people in bondage – a Deliverer Who sets them free
a people under hard taskmasters – a God of tender mercies
a people not worth saving – a Lord Who saves them anyway
a people with no redeeming qualities – a Lord Who redeems them anyway
a people ready to sin – a God ready to pardon
a people who will not come – God who makes them willing
a people who cannot come – a God who comes to them
a people that are lame – a King that sends and fetches them
a people that leave the Lord – a Lord Who never leaves them
a people afar off – a Lord Who brings them nigh
a people who can do nothing – a Lord Who does all for them
a people who play the harlot – a Lord Who is their faithful Husband
a people dead and deep in sin – a Lord Who was made sin for them
a people in great debt – a Lord who paid it all
a people who blasphemed His Holy Name – a Lord who saves for His Name’s Sake
a people of wrath – a God with thoughts of peace
a people, stiff-necked/hard-hearted – a God with largeness of heart, Who breaks their heart
a people who play the prodigal – a Father who brings them home and kisses them
a people very selfish – a Lord very generous
a people naked – a Lord Who stripped Himself to cover them
a people guilty – a Substitute Who took their blame
a people who need mercy – a God Who delights to give it
a people who forget God – a God Who cannot forget them
a people who forget His Word and can’t forget their sins – a God who cannot forget His Word nor remember their sins.
a people who need a Lamb – a Lord Who became one
a people who need a Righteousness – a Lord Who provided His own
a children who mess up everything – a Father who fixes all
a children who act foolish/childish – a Father who pities and knows their frame
a people compassed with infirmity – a Faithful High Priest who took the same
a people harassed by Satan – a Lord Who chained him.
a people always crying – a Lord who always hears them
a people fearful/facing death – a Lord who died and arose to ease their fears
a people who begin as worms – a Lord who makes them as angels
a people from the dunghill – a Lord who raises them to sit among princes. What a story! What a Lord! What a Saviour!
