To Know Righteousness is to Know Christ

“Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.”

(Isaiah 51:7)

To know righteousness is to know Christ, or rather to be known by Him. God's people KNOW Christ because He is their Husband and He has loved them with everlasting love. The Law that He puts in the hearts of His people is not the law of Moses but rather the law of Faith, or the Doctrine of Christ. This law is contrary to the law of works which tells sinners to keep working to be saved and/or maintain salvation. The law of Faith proclaims that all of salvation is FINISHED in the person of Christ by the shedding of His blood on Calvary. The redeemed do not look to the law of Moses for justification and sanctification but to Christ aloneWho is made unto us Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption! [1 Corinthians 1:30]; “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was a husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jeremiah 31:31-33)
