Sodomy appears to be the crowning sin of a society bereft of common sense, a society devoid of moral compass, a society impervious to the laws of God.
A nation abandoned by God to the tranquilizing lies of demonic delusion finds feelings—not facts—to constitute truth. And then with “untruthful” truth they justify their sin.
Long ago God told Adam and Eve not to eat of the fruit from a particular tree. Satan came along, wilily beguiling Eve, causing her to question God’s word. “Hath God said?”—he craftily asked.
Then he led Eve to disbelieve the warning God had given her and her husband. With an irreverent display of arrogance he declared, “Ye shall not surely die.”
It is no different today. God has said through His Word, “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;” (Mark 10:6,7).
God made man. God made woman. God made man and woman to be together as one.
Man cannot make himself a woman. Woman cannot make herself a man. Man with man is an abomination before God. Woman with woman is an abomination before God.
To say, “Biologically I am a man, but as to gender I am a woman,” is to be beguiled by the same devil that deceived Eve. It is an “untruthful” truth, an imagination void of common sense, a mere balm formulated to hopefully assuage a conscience sensing guilt for the unnatural sin of sodomy.
Grandpa’s rooster never had a problem discerning between hens and roosters. If Americans cannot tell the difference between a man and a woman without asking their identity, how can farmers tell the difference between a rooster and a hen? How can they know the difference between a bull and a heifer? Must they go to each creature and ask for gender identity?
The generation being swept into the sin of sodomy bear common characteristics—unthankful, proud, without natural affection, disobedient to parents, lovers of themselves, lovers of pleasures, despisers of those that are good, haters of God.
Such a society that cannot discern the most basic of natural truths, that has no fear of God, and that consumes itself by gratifying itself with ungodly sexual lusts is a society inescapably bound for destruction.
Yet, the Bible is clear. “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” (Romans 5:20).
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Jesus Christ came into this world to save sinners. He did not come to “try to save” sinners. He is quite able to save the worst of sinners and to change their lives completely. He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him with a genuinely contrite heart, seeking forgiveness of sins.
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” (John 6:37).
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12,13).
There is hope for sinners. There is mercy for sinners. There is love for sinners. But all these graces are found alone in the person and work of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Of myself I can say with the Apostle Paul, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” (1 Timothy 1:15). Ω
