(1 Corinthians 1:20-21)
“Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.”

What does it take to win people to the Lord. Yes, I know that Paul said, “I become all things to all men that I may win some to the Lord”. But what does that even mean? Peal said “To the Jew I became as a Jew, to them that are under the law, as under the law, to them that are without the law, as without the law (but not outside the law of Christ) to them that are weak I became as weak that I might gain the weak.” This does not indicate that we become worldly. It simply means we relate to people where they are. We cannot win the world by stooping to the worlds standards. Nothing wrong with God Honoring music at the outset of the service. Nothing wrong with technology to help people follow the service and preaching of the Word. But scripture is plain and settled. God chose that it is by the foolishness of preaching that people are saved. There are those who think they are smarter than God! But where are the wise, the scribe, the disputers of The Word of God by those of the world? God has made their wisdom foolishness. For by the things of worldly wisdom they do not know God. Broad is the gate that leads to destruction. It’s not hard to build a large congregation when you have a fish fry every night, but when the fish runs out, the congregation is gone! Just preach the Word or are you afraid no one will come?
