Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1:1-3
We Have All In Christ The Redeemer
Job said, “I know that MY REDEEMER liveth.” Which of the two words; my Redeemer” should be of greater importance? The presumptuous person may claim the blessings based upon the fact that he has accepted the Redeemer as MY Redeemer. But the true believer embraces the promises as they are in Christ Jesus; He is my REDEEMER!
All of the promises of the covenant are made to Christ Jesus and to His seed IN HIM. We claim the promises, not upon the ground of anything we have done; they are ours because of who He is, what He has done, and where He is now!
There is a danger of being more taken up with the promises than with the Redeemer, more interested in WHAT was done than in the ONE WHO DID IT. Faith is to receive Christ and having Christ, we have all in Christ. Pastor Henry T. Mahan (bulletin 1991)
We Believe
Scriptures Alone: The Bible is the Word of God, 1 Timothy 3:16. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. It contains no error whatsoever. We do not derive our doctrine from men or denominations. The Bible is our rule of faith and practice. "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them." Isaiah 8:20.
Christ Alone: Christ is the Gospel. He is both the subject and the object of The Gospel. It is about Him, Romans 1:1-3 and for His glory, Colossians 1:18. "Christ is ALL"are the words of scripture Colossians 3:11. He is All in the scriptures, All to God, All in salvation, and All to every believer. The SURE and ONLY hope of every child of God is wrapped up in the person and work of Christ. Salvation is caused by the work of Christ, His effectual atonement for His people, Mathew 1:21, and experienced by knowing and bowing to the Lordship of Christ John 17:2-3.
Grace Alone: Every aspect of salvation from the beginning (election) to the end, (glorification) is all of God's grace. Salvation is not what you do for God, but what He does for you. No part of salvation can be ascribed to man. To ascribe any part of salvation to the religious efforts, good works, or free will of man is to deny salvation by grace, "Salvation is of the Lord" Jonah 2:9. "By grace are ye saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God; not of works lest any man should boast" Ephesians 2:8-9.
Faith Alone: Christ and His salvation is not received by doing, but by believing. "This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent." Anybody who trusts Christ for salvation will be saved. "The just shall live by faith" Rom 1:17.

A believer sees, with his natural eye, a world of evil that vexes his soul every day. But that same believer, vexed with that which he beholds in the world knows according to the eternal Word of God; “That all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” O what peace is found in Him Who rules in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth (Dan.4:35). A FAITHFUL MESSENGER
When Stephen went into the synagogue of the Jews to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, they could not resist the wisdom by which he spoke, nor could they collect any evidence to argue against him (Acts 6:9-10). Instead of listening and taking heed to the gospel he preached, they went about to set up false witnesses to say they heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, God, the holy place and the law (Acts 6:11-14). Stephen was a faithful servant of God who would not speak any evil words about the things of God. The Scripture says he was, "A man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost"(Acts 6:5).
I will tell you what he really preached that made them so angry. Stephen, when he preached about MOSES, he preached that Jesus Christ was that Prophet that Moses said would come (Deut. 18:18). Moses wrote about the coming of the Just One. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "Had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me" (John 5:46).
When Stephen preached about GOD, he plainly told them that Jesus Christ was God almighty manifested in the flesh, come to redeem His people from their sins. "The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us" (John 1:14).
When he preached about THE HOLY PLACE, (the mercy seat, the Ark of the Covenant and the Day of Atonement), he preached unto them that they were only pictures pointing to the real Lamb, Mercy Seat and the only atonement for sin is, Jesus Christ (John 1:29).
When Stephen preached about THE LAW, I am sure that he told them that Jesus Christ came not to destroy the law, but to fulfill, honor and magnify the law on the behalf of His elect (Matt. 5:17, Isa. 42:21).
This true messenger of the gospel was faithful to declare that Jesus Christ is "ALL AND IN ALL" in the gospel. Even though this message cost him his life, he never compromised the message to pacify his enemies, but was faithful to glorify Jesus Christ. God help us to emulate Stephen's attitude and his boldness in declaring the message of grace! Even when the enemies of the gospel of God's grace accuse us of speaking blasphemy, let us never compromise one word of truth to satisfy the enemies of Christ (l Cor. 9:16).
