Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

If you want the Holy Spirit, then repent and be forgiven for Jesus' sake.

Repent and turn from sin. Renounce sin, and live for Jesus now. Turn from sin, and do it no more. Give it up. Give your life entirely to Jesus.

A time comes; it’s a critical crisis, when the sinner realizes that JESUS IS LORD!

Acts 2:34-36, “For it was not David who ascended into the heavens, but he himself says: ‘The Lord declared to my Lord,’ ‘Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies Your footstool.’ “Therefore let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ!”

You realize that God has highly exalted Him, and He's alive from the dead. He finished the work of redemption. He accomplished all the Father gave Him to do. He sits as Lord, and disobedience to Him will not be rewarded. If we want peace with God, then we must turn to Christ. There's no other peace treaty possible!

Secondly, there's forgiveness! Trust the Lord Jesus to pardon you! His blood made atonement and put away the sins of everyone who turns to Him. There's TOTAL ACCEPTANCE with God and favor. There's absolutely blessings to come.

Not only are we spared God's wrath, guilt, and oppression, but we're given the Spirit to live a new life! “You shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” The Spirit comforts us and gives us joy. He gives us pleasure. He makes us testify of Christ and endure hardship. He's God WORKING INSIDE US powerfully to do good works [Heb 13:21]. He's abundant and eternal life! He's what you are looking for - the thrill of life and God's pleasure on the inside! He's the goodness of God!
