Wednesday: 7:00 pm ------------ Deliverance From Fear of Death – Hebrews 3:14-15

We are thankful to our Lord for the time of worship and fellowship we have had together this weekend. We thank the Lord for the men He has sent our way and the messages He gave them. And we thank these pastors for coming. Thank you Darvin, David and Gabe.

WHY? HOW? WHEN?

It is not until God reveals His sovereign character that these three questions will always be answered in a way that gives the believer true peace, comfort and rest. Here are the final answers to every question that begins with “Why? How? When?

WHY? “Even so Father: it seemed good in thy sight.” (Matthew 11:26, Luke 10:21)

HOW? “According to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.” (Ephesians 1:11)

WHEN? “But when it pleased God.” “Until the time appointed.” (Galatians 1:15, Galatians 4:2)

I am so thankful that our God is in the heavens doing whatsoever He has pleased. Remember, God doesn’t do something because it is right, it is right because God does it. -- David Eddmenson

To Whom Shall We Go?

When the Lord spoke of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, many found it to be a hard saying, unbelievable saying, and many of His disciples went back and walked no more with him. The Lord asked the twelve. “Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. John 6:67-68

1. To whom shall we go for Truth? Christ said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life…” apart from Christ we cannot know the Truth. Truth is a person.

2. To whom shall we go for forgiveness? Jesus Christ only has the authority to forgive us of our sins. “But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.” Matthew 9:6

3. To whom shall we go for Redemption? If we are to be saved we must be redeemed from the curse of the law. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree” Galatians 3:13. “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” Col 1:14.

4. To whom shall we go for wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption? Jesus Christ is all these to every believer. “But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption" 1 Corinthians 1:30

5. God the Father has made His Son, Jesus Christ, to be our all in all. “Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all” (Colossians 3:11). Thank God if you know that there is no one else to go to for all you need to stand before God accepted. -- John Chapman

In Everything Give Thanks

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Lord, teach us what the word everything” means. It would be very easy for us, in our sinful and doubtful flesh, to insert the words some things” into that verse. In some things, we do give thanks. In most things, however, we don’t. Usually, we murmur over things, we complain over things, we question things, and we try our hardest to change things. We do this because our sinfully blind eyes do not see the hand of the Lord in it. We do this because, sinfully, we are not trusting that He is doing right in it. We do this because, sinfully, we are doubtful that good will come from it. Lord, we believe, help our unbelief! Teach us to have a single eye on You, and Your perfect purpose, and Your all knowing, all controlling, sovereign will. Teach us that everything is being done by You, through You, to You. Therefore, EVERYTHING is for Your glory and our good. If we could truly see that... in everything, we would give thanks! – Gabe Stalnaker
