(Deuteronomy 28:1)
“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.”

Obedience is a necessary prerequisite to blessings! Love is a necessary prerequisite to obedience! But, though paying attention to and obeying the word of God is imperative for God’s blessings in our lives, it’s not just because of the physical blessings that we keep His word. It’s because we Love Him! Because we need unbroken fellowship with Him! We need the blessings, but we need the fellowship of God in our lives more. Why we do what we do counts. We keep His commandments because we Love Him and cannot do without His presence! The motivation behind faithfulness is Love!
