Wisdom's Good Neighbor Policy - Proverbs 3:29-30

If we desire to mature in wisdom, then we need to consider how we treat our neighbors. Wisdom has a good neighbor policy that we need to learn and apply. Wisdom teaches us how to treat our neighbor. A wise person is considerate and thoughtful when it comes to doing good towards our neighbor. Yesterday, we learned that wise people are eager to do good.

Today, wisdom has another lesson for us concerning our neighbor. Wisdom is not eager to start strife. The wise person is not eager to stir up trouble or get involved with contention with their neighbor. The fool stirs up strife and looks for ways to cause trouble. Our neighbor should have confidence in knowing we are looking out for their good, not plotting or looking for ways to do them harm. Wise people do not provoke or start quarrels. Furthermore, wise people are not contrarians, who look for ways to disrupt peace and harmony through useless arguments.
